End User License Agreement (EULA)

Effective date: September 18, 2026 · Product: SonicAura 1.0.0 for Windows · Licensor: Edenware

This Agreement is between you and Edenware ("we", "us") and governs the installation and use of the SonicAura desktop application, including its updates, its documentation and the effect and plugin files distributed with it (together, the "Software"). By installing, copying or using the Software you accept this Agreement. If you do not accept it, do not install or use the Software.

1. License grant

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and non-sublicensable license to install and use the Software on the computers you own or control, for personal or professional purposes, in accordance with this Agreement.

The free plan may be used without payment. The Pro features are unlocked by a license key or by a purchase made through the Microsoft Store, and are subject to sections 2 and 3.

2. Activation and the license key

  • A license allows one activation at a time. You may deactivate the license on one machine, inside the application, and activate it on another; the application provides a documented deactivation and reset flow for that purpose.
  • The license key is personal. Reproducing, reselling, publishing, sharing or distributing it — in whole or in part, including through key marketplaces, forums, shared accounts or automated activation services — is forbidden.
  • We may revoke a license that was obtained fraudulently, charged back, shared in violation of this section or used to circumvent the licensing of the Software.
  • Activation transmits a device identifier and the license key to our licensing server, as described in the Privacy Policy.

3. Technical disclosure and acceptance

The Software works by drawing an overlay above your desktop and it needs to observe certain local signals to do so. By using the Software you acknowledge and accept the following behaviours, which are described in detail in the Privacy Policy:

  • Keyboard — while the typing layer is enabled, the Software installs a global keyboard hook that measures the instant and the position of the physical key. The typed character is never received, stored or transmitted; the hook is removed when the layer is switched off.
  • Screen — effects that copy the desktop read the screen pixels to deform them inside the effect, in memory only, without writing or transmitting any image.
  • System audio — the Software measures the audio loopback of Windows (loudness, energy, bass and treble content, note onsets, melodic direction) to drive the animation. No audio is recorded or transmitted.
  • Capture exclusion — while an effect that reads the screen is active, the Software excludes its own overlay from the screen capture application programming interfaces of Windows, so the overlay does not appear in screenshots or recordings taken on the machine.
  • AI assistant activity — the optional indicator reads only the modification date and the size of session files that AI coding tools already write to disk. Their content is never read.

These behaviours are part of the Software's design. If you do not accept them, do not install or use the Software.

4. Restrictions

You may not:

  • reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the Software, except to the extent that this restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
  • modify, translate, adapt or create derivative works of the executable files, or distribute them in any form;
  • redistribute, rent, lease, lend, sell, sublicense or host the Software as a service for third parties;
  • remove or alter any copyright, trademark or attribution notice contained in the Software;
  • use the Software, its code or its assets to train, fine-tune or evaluate machine learning models, or to benchmark a competing product, without our written permission.

The effect format is open by design. Effects and plugins are single files in an open, documented format: writing, publishing, sharing and installing your own effects is permitted and encouraged. Creating an effect does not give you any right over the Software's executable code, its name or its visual identity, and effects you distribute must not circumvent the licensing of the Software or unlock paid features.

5. Ownership

The Software is licensed, not sold. All rights, title and interest in the Software — including its code, its visual effects, its artwork, its name and its documentation — remain with Edenware and its licensors. This Agreement grants you no rights other than those expressly stated in section 1.

6. Purchases through the Microsoft Store

If you obtained SonicAura or the Pro upgrade through the Microsoft Store, the payment, the delivery of the entitlement and the refunds are handled by Microsoft under its own terms, and the Store may verify the purchase on the device. This Agreement governs your use of the Software itself, including the activation limits in section 2. If you obtained the Software through our own checkout, the payment is processed by the providers identified in our Terms of Sale.

7. Updates and the scope of the purchase

  • Pro is a one-time purchase. There is no subscription, no renewal and no recurring charge, and your license does not expire.
  • Your license is lifetime: every update we release for the Software is included at no additional cost, including future major versions. We may add, change or remove features as the product evolves.
  • Nothing here depends on a release schedule: this Agreement does not promise a specific number of future versions, but no future version of the Software will require a new payment from you.
  • The Software may check for updates online. Update checks do not send your content or your activity anywhere.

8. Third-party software

The Software includes open source components, each governed by its own license. The list of components and their credits is kept in the product's repository. In the event of a conflict between this Agreement and an open source license covering a component, the open source license prevails for that component.

9. Disclaimer of warranty

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL RUN WITHOUT INTERRUPTION OR ERROR, OR THAT IT WILL BE COMPATIBLE WITH EVERY HARDWARE, DRIVER OR THIRD-PARTY APPLICATION. YOU USE THE SOFTWARE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, EDENWARE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, REVENUE OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE USE OF OR THE INABILITY TO USE THE SOFTWARE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY UNDER THIS AGREEMENT IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU ACTUALLY PAID FOR THE SOFTWARE. Nothing in this Agreement excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including the rights granted to consumers by the applicable consumer protection rules.

11. Termination

This Agreement is effective until terminated. It terminates automatically if you breach any of its terms. On termination you must stop using the Software and delete every copy you hold, including the installed application files. Sections 5, 9, 10 and 12 survive termination.

12. Governing law and venue

This Agreement is governed by the laws of Brazil. The courts of the consumer's domicile are competent to settle any dispute, as provided by the applicable consumer protection rules.
